ADP: Hey Halima, what art world advice would you give to your younger self?
HI: I’d tell my younger self to stop waiting for validation before believing in the value of my work. Stay consistent, keep creating and don’t let rejections define you.
Build genuine connections, remain faithful to your artistic practice and trust that your voice matters. Trends will come and go, but the work that lasts is rooted in honesty and conviction. Protect your curiosity, trust your process and remember that your unique perspective is your greatest strength.
Most importantly, don’t joke with God or whatever higher power you believe in. Sometimes the greatest opportunities come through doors you never expected to open. Stay humble, stay grateful and keep showing up. The right opportunities will come.
